About

About Tap Sorted

Tap Sorted is an independent UK guide for people choosing a kitchen water filter. We focus on cupboard space, fitting, replacement cartridges and what the purchase adds up to over five years.

What you’ll find here

Practical guides to the main types of filter and the questions that decide a purchase: under-sink and countertop fit, reverse osmosis, hard water, certifications and cartridge replacement. There is also a running-cost calculator that works from the figures you enter and shows every cartridge change.

How the guides are written

Each guide starts from the questions a buyer has to answer, and from published official and standards-body sources, which are linked where they are used. Specific fitting steps and cartridge schedules vary by model, so the guides send you to the manufacturer’s instructions and, for plumbing, to a qualified plumber. Claims are kept in three groups: what a manufacturer says, what an independent certificate confirms for an exact model, and what has been observed in use. How we check sets out the sources and the labels.

We haven’t tested any filters, and the site doesn’t rank or recommend specific products. When product comparisons appear, each entry will show its evidence, with the source and date of every price, specification and certificate.

Money and independence

Tap Sorted doesn’t sell filters, and it doesn’t currently carry advertising or affiliate links. If that changes, any affiliate relationship will be disclosed on the pages concerned, and commission will not decide which products are included or how they are described or ranked.

Corrections and contact

If something is wrong, out of date or unclear, tell us at hello@tapsorted.co.uk. The page and the sentence you mean are the most useful details, and a link to the source if you have one. Factual errors are corrected, and guides carry the month they were last reviewed.
